Feeding Fun!

Now that 'Luke' is back, the feeding routine in the mornings and sometimes evenings is always most entertaining and I can't help imagine what it might be like if they could speak out loudly:

I do by now know all the equine visitors and residents here at 'Buttercup Farm'. And I know their behaviour when feeding, i.e. I know the exact pecking order and how to arrange things to keep them all calm.

In this particular scenario:
Luke (bottom of pecking order)  / Jess (just slightly above 'Luke') / 'Madame' (top of pecking order, hence why she is on the other side of the gate)

'Luke': "Hey, can I have some of your food?"
'Jess': "No, certainly not!"

"Not even just a little ...?"
"No! Buzz off!"

"But there is plenty in that bucket. Let me have just a little, please?"

"NO! For the last time - GO AWAY!"

*Sigh!* 'Hmm, perhaps this one here likes to share ...'

"Hey, can I have some of ..." - "OH do go away, boy!"

'This is no fun ... - aha, look, I got her rope'

'Luke' pulls very gently on 'Madame's rope:
"Why don't you come a little closer with that bucket?"
"Oh do leave me alone boy, it won't get you anywhere"

"Besides, I have already finished my food - so there!"
'Madame' sticking out her tongue ... not very lady-like!
 "Oh do let me taste!"

There is never a dull moment with these equines. :)

Yet more improvements!

Further improvements:

'Mr F' keeps improving ever since 'Annette' attended his back. The change of food also has contributed with some more subtle changes. His skin is no longer itching.

He still is uncomfortable when girthing but much less so.

'Mr F' also now has his own saddle. Now I have to get it fitted. And so, soon we can stop borrowing other people's tack.

Photos below taken on 30th March 2014:

Below a comparison of 'Mr F' facial expressions:
Before: sore legs, itchy skin, sore back
After: back treated, food changed, no longer itchy skin.

Its a big change!
