Scouting for the Christmas Ride

Today 'Lillian' and I went on a ride to scout out a route for the riding club's fancy dress ride scheduled for the 23rd of December.

Loading the boys into the trailer was fine except that 'Mr F' decided it was ok to reverse back out of it when he realised that 'Luke' wasn't quite there yet.

But we got them in calmly and much quicker than the first time. This time 'Mr F' wasn't sweating up so much ... possibly due to the colder weather, possibly due to him perhaps feeling more relaxed about it all and realising that it does not mean 'We are going to the races' ....

He was perfectly behaved and enjoyed a short canter (until his boots came of in the thick, heavy mud).

I admit I am still buzzing from that canter / gallop experience on that last big group ride. The power beneath me and the speed where simply overwhelming. I just wanted to keep going and keep feeling this force ... I had not experienced anything like it before. I have skied down mountains at full speed etc, but none of it was even remotely as exhilarating as charging up a grassy slope (even thought he rest of the ride was a nightmare)

However,  we (both I and 'Mr F') have calmed down a little now.
